What is the best solution to get rid of glare on a high def TV WITHOUT degrading picture quality?

pretty self explanitory i guess. my dad just bought a 47” 1080p tv for $270 and is putting our old tv back because he hates that he can see the room reflection in the screen. so instead of moving the lights, or finding a way to fix it….he takes the tv down. i’m hoping there is a way toget rid of the glare (a film, cover, etc.) that can do the job. anyone know? i saw one product that’s a spray, but it is said to degrade HD pic quality. i MUST convince him to keep this tv!! lol thanks guys!
