Who should I call to find temp work for Thanksgiving?

Should I call large stores directly? Call temp agencies I find by googling? I’m looking for one or two days of retail work during a store’s post-Thanksgiving / Black Friday rush.

Maybe check craigslist? Or go around asking stores in person, even call if you’d like. Places may be looking for a few weeks or around a month of temp work vs. a few days. However it never hurts to try!

Try going back to places you’ve worked before. You’re probably too late for this year because of administrative reasons—payroll, paperwork to get you set up as an employee, training. But you may be able to line up something for Christmas if you apply now.

I’m actually asking because I’ve seen a couple of listings on Craigslist for Thanksgiving help (but both required that I show up at a training location I can’t get to by public transportation). So I know some places are hiring still.
