I have a nice roadbike that is overdue for a tune-up. Any recommendations for a place that is both cheap and good?

It depends on where you live. Near me there is Golden Gate cyclery which has been around for 30 years. But in Hayes Valley there is a place that teaches bike repair and allows you to use rheir space andstuff.

I am a huge fan of Nomad Cyclery on Irving street in the Sunset. I trust them above all others.

I like Mike’s bikes in Soma. I don’t think they’re “cheap” though.

the caltrain bike shop at 4th and king is the cheapest place i’ve heard. i took mine to sports basement, in the mission, but i wasn’t thrilled with the results (and don’t get me wrong, i love sports basement)
