It’s fun to watch guy’s jaws drop and eyes pop when, after we’ve been flirting playful for a bit, I hand them one of my cards and tell them to get in contact with me.
I have a feeling this doesn’t happen often, because the messages that I get later always say how refreshing it is that I did that.
It’s creepy to ask for a person’s number that you just met and seems a little lame to say “here’s my e-mail address/facebook”. Just take control of the situation and hand him an incredibly well designed card while looking him in the eyes and saying “I’d love to continue this later, if you’re interested” or something similar.
It also gives him a chance to google your name and get a sense of who you are before he decides on contacting you.
Googling me comes up with a couple of atheist groups that I’m involved with and some other things that I would want a guy to know about before we plan a date. It’s a simple way of giving him the option of doing the research and making his decision on contacting me or not based on it.
(Also, the general consensus seems to be that there is nothing sexier than a woman who is professional, classy, knows what she wants, and isn’t afraid to get it.)
