I would consider about 10% of my questions to be actually about me, personally. That would be about issues I’m having….I can recall asking a question about how to get the smell of spilled cologne out of a small, poorly ventilated room, a question about why my disc drive on my computer might be acting up, a question about whether or not to send a thank you note after a job interview….and a few more. But the other 90% of my questions don’t have anything to do with me, personally. Now, they are about things I am wondering about, I don’t ever just ask a question where I’m not personally interested in hearing the answers, but generally for me it’s about curiosity. I’ve asked people to share their opinions on music and concerts and movies and such, like your 5 most underrated and overrated bands or the best concert you’ve seen unexpectedly, things I’m interested in. I’ve asked a few sex related questions about things in which I have never had personal experience nor do I expect to ever have the opportunity to gain such experience, but where I’m nonetheless curious about the answer, such as my now infamous questions about preferred penis size or the pleasures of anal sex. I ask questions about political opinions, human nature, items in the news, like if the choices of VP candidates swayed your vote, or if you found it all all humorous that Cindy McCain sprained her wrist by shaking hands, or if you think it would be possible for someone as high profile as Michael Jackson to have faked his death. If I find something interesting, sometimes I want to know if it struck others the way it struck me, like the last question I asked what others thought about an SNL skit that caught me off guard. So, 100% of the questions I ask are based on my own self interest, things I want to know, but only about 10% involve me to any personal degree, other than the fact that I usually do have my own opinion about the topic I’m asking about. I ask questions simply out of curiosity, and because I trust this collection of people to provide me with fun, insightful, informative, useful answers 100% of the time.
