I read somewhere that we dream in black and white. Well, first of all, how do they know and second of all, ALL my Dreams seem to be in colour…....I mean I see blue sky, blood, grass etc. (not in the same dream lol)
what do you guys think? is it an old wives tale about the B/W thing?

I have very vivid dreams, all in amazing Technicolor!!! :-D I’ve always wondered about that, too…if people do dream w/out color, it must be boring.

I dream in color and the dreams tend to come true. Perhaps dreaming in black and white was a holdover from when all the media available was in that color range. We’re shown color from the first day we are born. We live in a rainbow world now.

I rarely remember my dreams, but when I do, they’re in color.

Hello, this is interesting. According to Wikipedia Twelve percent of people dream only in black and white. Recent research has suggested that those changing results may be linked to the switch from black-and-white film and TV to colour media.

Here’s a link to a white paper by Eric Switzgebel on the topic. Interesting that dreams can be influenced by technological advances in media.

I dream most of the time with no awareness of color. Sometimes, though, my dreams are very vividly in color.

I actually don’t have any idea if I dream in color or not.. It’s more like mental pictures, and i can’t really remember any time i saw a specific color in a dream, although i can’t remember them being colorless either.

I don’t recall having ever dreamed in black and white (grayscale). My dreams look more like color LOMO photography.

I remember having a dream where I had a lose tooth at an old playground I used to go to. I pulled it out, and it was a red shark tooth. I couldn’t have known it was red unless my dreams are Technicolor!

I have every now and again but not all the time…so there is an evident distinction…one might concur from this that it means no we don’t dream in black and white all the time…(really)
