Can you "hack" an elevator, so that it will bypass "pickup calls"?

The following YouTube® videos supposedly show that you can turn any elevator into an “Express,” and bypass calls to stop for other passengers. Are these videos a joke, or can this really be done? Do you know of other video examples, besides these, that work?

I remember reading this a while back (linked from lifehacker) but it hasn’t worked for me so far!

I used to do the first one as a kid and teen-ager. I haven’t done them in Many years. A lot of changes have been made in elevators, so I’m not sure; but it’s worth a try. But I had to make sure I was the only one in the elevator to not be reported.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. They are appreciated!

Actually, it’s not worth a try. What you are talking about is vandalism. This could really interfer with the rest of your life.
