Who is the "black sheep" in your family?

“Great Question” (10points)

Some of us have great relatives that seem to be upstanding citizens in their community, but each family also has that one relative that’s the opposite. Someone who always gets into trouble and can never be counted on. The one with the quirky personality.

I am not sure there is a blacksheep in my family? My extended family is disconnected for many reasons that I won’t bore you with here, but I don’t think of it as someone being a black sheep. In my husband’s family I think my husband is probably the blacksheep, because of his success and different view of life than the rest of his family. Or, does black sheep have to be someone who is bad? I just think of it as the family member who does not quite fit in with the rest. Actually, as I write this there is one family member in his family who has been dishonest and has stolen money from family, so I guess he is kind of a blacksheep also in a different way. Maybe I need a clearer definition of the word?

I was almost positive I answered a thread just like this in the past and wrote a biography and got some GA’s for it, but I can’t seem to find the thread.

My cousin. She is a crack head and a thief. I stopped having anything to do with her years ago.

In my immediate family it is me. My mum was a British gymnastics champion who then went on to be a PTI in the navy and finally after leaving the navy became an aerobics teacher. My dad has been obsessed with sport his whole life and dabbled in just about everything, he was a PTI in the Navy (where he met my mum) and when he retired from the navy he went on to be a tennis umpire and referee. He now runs his own business as a sport event organiser. My brother is also sport mad and plays semi professional football.

Then there’s me. I hate sport!

Having said that, I get a lot of my loves and talents from other family members so I am not a complete black sheep.

Oh That is sooo definitely me! I mean having a space case nutter in the family!! Just too tragic for words lol! some siblings haven’t spoken to me in over 20 years, because of my beliefs and passions, i hear the whispers steer clear she’s one of those ‘Trekkies’ youknow!!!!!!!
But i don’t mind being a black sheep at least i stand out from th rest of the flock haha

Me. :)

Even though I’m not a trouble maker, and I certainly am reliable, I am the weird one.

My aunt.

We can always count on her to provide the hottest gossip topic at any family function.

Poor lady has been barred from physically being present with the family but in spirit she is always there because we do not let her be absent.

Probably my cousin, who allegedly sexually assaulted an infant.
Of the people in my family who are not in prison, however, I would be the black sheep, being my family’s only atheist and only homosexual.

Out of my immediate family, that would be my older brother. I think he has been on more than one episodes of cops. In my extended, that would be my brother in-law, a 48 year old pothead that has never had to really know what it is like to work for a living because he still lives at home. Strangely enough, both middle children.

None now .. but when my sister was much younger, my Dad pretty much drummed her out the corps because of who she married. I thought that was horrible!

master_mind413's avatar

My cousin eric dude has never been level headed since the day he was born

azlotto's avatar

I’m one of several.

That would be my mother. We can all get together and have a wonderful time so long as mom isn’t within a hundred miles of us. Father, sisters, brothers, children, grand children, we are one big happy cooperative family. Mom shows up and we are a stampeding heard, all trampling each other trying to get out the door first. God bless mom she just can’t help herself. She has always been a square peg.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

yeah, that’d be me.

IBERnineD's avatar

Luckily for me we are all a bunch of weirdos in a family together. I wouldn’t say anyone is the black sheep. Well my Dad is kinda awkward and a man so he not like the rest of us, so I guess he is the black sheep?

ucme's avatar

Baaaraaaack Obaaaama.Ewe sound quite sheepish! Ok he’s not in my family whatever. Whoever the culprit is in my family we just tell them to shut the flock up.

MrJosh's avatar

I think we are all black sheep. If we didn’t look alike, you would never assume we were related.

Jude's avatar

Ah, that would be my bro. He gave my Mama tons of grief over the years.

sjmc1989's avatar

I don’t think any of us would be considered “black sheep” now, but when I was younger I was definitely considered the “black sheep” I have calmed down a lot in the the last 2 years.

Jeruba's avatar

@Tophat, what does she do?

Blondesjon's avatar

My brother Mao.

YARNLADY's avatar

My Oldest son had that reputation for a few years, but now that he’s nearing the half-century mark, he’s mellowed out a lot, and other people have decided to overlook his earlier indiscretions.

RubyReds's avatar

Being the middle one made me a little of the ‘left out’ one. But I didnt mind and today we are all one happy family!

moley_thecontrarydragon's avatar

That would be me Zacky when I was a young and rebellious teen, Almost expelled from school. Grew up in the 60’s.
Unfortunately I grew up and eventually conformed.(up til now, but its never too late to change. lol) (^_-)

Our “Black Sheep” is my sister… She MURDERED our mother in 2004 !!

Vunessuh's avatar

I wouldn’t necessarily call myself the black sheep, but I’m very different from the rest of my family. Fortunately, I think that ‘difference’ is better than who most of them are.

Zacky's avatar

@Vunessuh – I am attracted to women who are very different BTW. (^_-)

Vunessuh's avatar

@Zacky I am attracted to men who are attracted to different women :)

Zacky's avatar

@Vunessuh – Oh my. Are we going to start this up again? I really would like too.

lonelydragon's avatar

That would be me. I’m just not on the same wavelength with the rest of them.

@HasntBeen That was not the answer I expected from you. Your family doesn’t know what they’re missing out on.

texasescimo's avatar

Most consider me the black sheep although some might consider my brother the black sheep since he’s in prison.

sjmc1989's avatar

Shit deleted by Me wrong post. Oops!

texasescimo's avatar

Sorry to hear that HighShaman. That has to be hard. I’m very sorry for you.
