“Great Question” (1points)

I had told friends and family and when he came home from work mid Febuary, he says ,“Oh, wait now, don’t do that”. I was hurt to the gut of me. he was pushing me to live with him!!

“Proposed to” as with a ring?

I would be planning my escape.

No, verbal agreement. and that’s what it’s is worth, too. My first husband proposed on Vancouver Island. I said yes and we went together to get rings so you don’t have to wear ugly shit for 40 years

I’d feel very scrooged.

Could you take him back? and how do you deal with a Major deal having been broken. I can’t anymore.

If he proposed at Christmas, and unproposed around Valentine’s Day, then I would think that he was telling me what he thought I wanted to hear at Christmas, and is not a sincere person.

That would be even more depressing than spending Christmas on your own with nothing but a hamper for company.

Can we have some more details? Did he say why he changed his mind? Did it seem reasonable to you? How long had you been together when he proposed? Why is something that happened in February a big deal right now?

@PandoraBoxx no ring—I was so stupid!

It would hurt a lot, before I woke up and realized how lucky I was to find out what a jerk he was before it was too late.

But I accepted it as not ready yet and tried not to be hurt. BUT now I am Woman Hear Me Roar! I don’t have time for this man anymore, I am so content now without him. 4 yrs!

He had a problem with commitiment, I guess. He came back from a job ,he was up north. It still makes my stomach roil after this long. then years later he had a lapdance in Cancun! my man with naked woman rubbing her juices on his crotch.

rooeytoo's avatar

Yep @YARNLADY beat me to it again. It would hurt like hell, but be grateful that you found out his true mettle before the ceremony.

If he’s not ready to sing his love from the rooftops, he’s not ready to get married. Depending on your and his history, there might be reason to stick together and work up to it again, but from what it seems, all I know is that I would feel extremely hurt, and be getting out of there asap. I’d also be glad I hadn’t moved in with him yet. BUT I’d like to think it wouldn’t prevent me from making commitments myself in the future :)

aprilsimnel's avatar

Oh, my. You’re best rid of him.

o_O

answerjill's avatar

He doesn’t sound like a good idea.

lonelydragon's avatar

Well, his actions certainly show what his words are worth. It seems to me that he wants you to live with him for the sake of convenience, but he’s not interested in a further commitment. If that arrangement makes you unhappy, then don’t sell yourself short.
