I imagine everyone loves getting Lurve; the show of appreciation by other jellies is one of the things I quite enjoy about Fluther. People with 10K lurve or more are acknowledged for their ability to write Great Questions and Answers, and/or their longevity on this site. But to what extent do you think you care about getting Lurve?

On sites like deviantArt, the amount of pageviews is equated to popularity, and people will go around posting things advertising their gallery for the sake of getting more pageviews. The idea behind this is that the amount of pageviews one has is directly related to how good one’s artwork is. But people with thousands (or millions) of pageviews aren’t always necessarily great artists; they may simply cater to the tastes of the masses (i.e. sexy ladies or fanart of popular shows).

I know pageviews on dA and Lurve are different in a lot of ways, but do you think the mentality of wanting Lurve/pageviews could apply to both? I’m just curious about how you all personally think of Lurve and what it means for you. :)
