I found it on my own. I was raised a Christian, and almost my entire community was Christian. My school was even a private Christian one. I’ve no idea why I turned out the way I did.

I was forced into Christianity as a child. Broke away when I was 11. Easy when you are in boarding school and no one is checking up on you.
Returned to Christianity in my 20’s out of free will. So this is difficult to answer, but I’d say in the end, I found it on my own.

Neither. I believe in a higher power/God but I don’t believe in any specific religion. My parents had me Christened as a baby but did not raise me to be religious in any way. Whenever I have gone to church it has always been my choice and I have often gone alone. I like going to church (although I don’t go often – a couple of times a year maybe) even though I don’t believe in everything that Christianity teaches because I find churches to very very peaceful places.

I suppose the only person in my family who is religious is my Grandmother who I will often turn to for advice when it comes to my faith but, again, she has never pushed anything onto me.

I take the Bible (and any other holy book) with a pinch of salt. It was written by human beings and not God himself in my opinion and so of course a lot of it will be corrupt, bigoted and contradictory (is that the right word?) because humans are all of those things. The higher power that I believe in does not hate homosexuals, women who have sex before marriage or people that eat shell fish!

My brother who was raised in the same way as me would probably tell you that he didn’t believe in God.

Forced to go to church my whole life, I guess I just questioned to much to be a good christian never really felt comfortable at church, there was a point in my life when a certain series of things happened that just could not be explained or taken care of through normal christian means and I seeked elsewhere for answers.

And ended up were I am now, And now I feel complete so I have stayed were I feel welcomed and belong and no one gets upset if you ask questions and they have answers

I found my beliefs on my own, using reason and logic. I was lucky enough to have been indoctrinated in a belief system that I disliked so much that I was able to discard it and look around.

I found them on my own. My grandmother is religious and a few other family members, but they never talked to me much about it to me, and no religious conversation came through my parents or school or friends. Until I realized I believe in God, religion and God were practically nonexistent to me, I knew nothing about either and never thought about them.
