I hope it’s mostly objective reason that distinguishes the two for me.

I work a lot with inner dialogues too. I find it easier to think about complicated issues or decisions if I evaluate them as if I’m two Fyriuses (Fyrii, if you prefer) discussing it from opposing points of view. It’s a bit like playing chess with yourself, though it’s less competitive.
@Xann009
Like two identical copies of yourself, or really two different people?
I occasionally try to have such conversations with imaginary characters too, in a “what would Courage Wolf do” kind of way. But I find it easier to just talk to myself.

I don’t think that sounds crazy. I think it’s a good way to resolve ambivalent feelings.
And it’s a good way to be impartial while considering an idea, by being partial to several positions at the same time.
Don’t discount the influence of fear. In moderate doses, it can prevent us from doing stupid things.
I do agree with Saboteur’s definition of urency. Unhealthy fear leaves you in a state of indecision, but caution makes you want to act now, and you know what course of action is the best one to take.
