First, here are the lyrics. . .
—————————————————————————————————————-
I know you think that I shouldn’t still love you,
I’ll tell you that.
But if I didn’t say it, well I’d still have felt it
where’s the sense in that?

I promise I’m not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were

Well I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

I know I left too much mess and
destruction to come back again
And I caused but nothing but trouble
I understand if you can’t talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of “it’s over”
then I’m sure that that makes sense

Well I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

And when we meet
Which I’m sure we will
All that was then
Will be there still
I’ll let it pass
And hold my tongue
And you will think
That I’ve moved on….

Well I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

Well I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

Well I will go down with this ship
And I won’t put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I’m in love and always will be

Is she on the fence of Uncertainty? (or Certain about her/our love/future?) Is she expecting (or wanting) the ship to go down? Is there something between the lines that I’m missing? – or – should be aware of? – or – should ask? Is she trying to tell me something through this song? IF she ever sings ‘Hunter’ or ‘My Life’ by Dido, well, it’s obviously Clear that she’s wanting to move on, and that I should accept the obvious. But ‘White Flag’ is Vague (to Me – maybe not – to You) and a little Clarity would be flutterly appreciated. Communicating, Long Distance, in this Virtual world of texting, e-mail and phone calls, leaves one at a loss, sometimes, of understanding Who, When, Where or What is Influencing, and possibly Altering, their life & feelings – At The Moment. For the record (for those of you who Do Understand, & Appreciate, the complexities of ones birth sign) she’s an Aquarian & I’m a Sagittarian, met, fell in love 2yrs ago, and have been together in the physical world, on and off, about 9 months. Been engaged 6 months, which probably puts it in the category of a pseudo-engagement… Thanks for your Interest and Feedback. I’ll attempt to respond, when I can <GrabTheTime> to do so. . .

Is the collective clairvoyant? Does it know you and your fiancĂ©e? Who’s Dido? What do the zodiac signs have to do with anything. Why not talk to her?

We don’t know nearly as much about your relationship as you do. You be the judge. Or, easiest and most to the point, just TALK to her.

Ask her if you’re unsure, and talk to her. That’s the best you can do.

My interpretation of the lyrics is this:

While others may think it’s time to give up, she never will.

Thank You, Augustian, for your Reassuring insight. I never thought of it like that. It’s entirely Possible that she’s getting negative feedback from others, of both genders, who would rather see her ‘move on’, with their own personal reasons for her doing so.
