I live about 25–30 minutes from downtown Denver, Invesco Field (the Broncos), Coors Field and all the other sports stadiums. I also live a half hour from the place they shot Real World: Denver.
About 8 miles from the Wallace Monument in Stirling, Dedicated to William Wallace, and maybe 7 miles from Stirling Castle, they are about the most famous tourist attractions around here, mind you, I’m also only 3 miles from Bannockburn and 12 miles to The FAlkirk Wheel. Lots to do round here!
I live in a medium sized Midwestern town that really isn’t big on tourism. So you would have to drive to the nearest large city to find any real tourist attractions. That’s about 20 miles.
I live in a small town of 3000. Our biggest attraction is Spook Hollow. It’s a half mile from my house to the woods.
I grew up in Vegas. A mile from the strip and right next to the airport. My friends and I would hang out at the airport when we were bored and make fun of the tourists. :P
3 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge
3 blocks from Golden Gate Park
½ mile from Ocean Beach
6 miles from Fisherman/s Wharf, Chinatown, Market Street/Ferry Building
In San Francisco no place is more than 10 miles away
I’m not sure how many miles everything is from everything, but I’m not that close to any of the major attractions. I’m in a quiet part of the city. It’s nice. :)
(The city in question is the same one @galileogirl mentioned).
@TominLasVegas irwin! no way! thats really close to me. i live in greensburg. the best pizza place on planet earth is in irwin. ask them if they’ve been to Vincents! if they say no, tell them to go NOW! :)
Griffith Park Observatory! LAMOCA! Museum of Natural History! (Actually, everything in Centennial Park – the rose garden, the art museum, the science museum…)
old town Quito is the biggest attraction here, maybe a 20 min drive, it depends on the traffic, or a 2 hour flight to the Galapagos islands, which is our biggest attraction ever
