OKAY, I KNOW IT’S A BUNCH OF WORDS THAT ARE NOT ACTUALLY WORDS BUT IT’S DRIVING ME NUTS! It’s the “Grand Ole Opry” @janbb. Excellent choice, but keep in mind that you would need to buy tickets well in advance, for a certain date and time, so probably not ideal for when you’re driving through town for 1 day in the dead of winter.
The Wildhorse is fun, but they have a cover charge (it varies on the night) while a lot of the more classic old-timey downtown bars along Broadway (the same street) don’t have cover charges, such as Tootsie’s and Robert’s.
Some fun day-time activities are the Christmas Trees at Cheekwood, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts (if you like art), the Parthenon in Centennial Park (it’s breathtaking).
Some great local eats include Calypso Cafe, Provence, and Kalamatas, which are local chains, very reasonably priced, and Caribbean, French, and Greek, respectively.
