I do sit ups every couple of days, basically I do them again when it stops aching. I have weights for my arms but idk if that matters. I started running too, and I am thinking about biking again. About how long should it take. Btw there really isnt much fat. I mean there is kinda but not really.
@davids It is physically impossible to lose fat in a specific area that you want to, you can only focus on the muscles. Where/how your body loses fat is different for everyone; working out his abs will develop the muscles, but not necessarily get rid of the fat. Link
@mineown Working out your abs is the best bet, but no guarantee on losing the fat. You can make them stronger though by working them out, and they may or may not show through the layer of fat, granted you don’t lose it. A good diet helps too.
It’s a good thing you clarified your terms. I was thinking in terms of a 5.56mm multibarreled machine gun and was about to give advice on getting a Class II firearms license.
@davids You did, and you were correct. I was just merely clearing up common misconceptions, by no means was I attacking you, sorry if it sounded like that, Lurve :).
It’ll all depend on your body, eating habits, how often you exercise, etc. I’m not a professional so I can’t really give you any timeframe ideas, sorry!
Haha, I like @davids‘s original answer better, but since you’ve clarified:
Just google “ab workout” and you’ll have a lot more advice than you can even handle.
It sounds like you’re pretty darn thin, so fat is not your problem, you just need to build some muscles there, and you’ll be good to go. For a 15–30 year old male, if you do ab work outs 3 times per week, you should start to see really nice results in about 2 months.
I did lots of situps. But what REALLY worked was catching this horrible cough I have. Coughing constantly and uncontrollably for nearly a month does the same as situps—it’s just not as much fun and you can’t choose when you do it. So I’m looking pretty good now. I don’t know what I’ll do when I get well! Back to situps I guess.
