For those of you who have seen the Body Worlds Exhibit, what made you decide to go see it in the first place?

When the Body Worlds exhibit came to my city last year, I went to see it because I heard it was interesting. I didn’t give it much thought about going, but after the exhibit I learned so much about the human body and its inner workings. What made you decide to go see it? Was it curiosity, or did you want to educate yourself? Or did you have a macabre desire that you wanted to fulfill?

My mom actually dragged me to it many years back, and I was fascinated. It was really strange thinking that all of these things used to be living, breathing human beings, but it didn’t bother me in the slightest. I guess I am a little macabre ;).

What I thought was really cool was the very first body you saw was the guy who’s collection (in life) it was, and his final wish was to be a part of his own exhibit. Not for me, but still interesting none the less.

2005, I was in Chicago, and so was it. It was fascinating, and educating.

I went to see it because it’s as close to the Mutter Museum I will likely ever get. I have an intense interest in all things related to this, and view them from a strong medical perspective. I took my daughters because I feel it holds significant educational value. And, let’s face it….where else can you literally see the monthly development of fetuses? I thought it was brilliant.

I saw it last year. I quite enjoyed it. I went with my mom and aunt who are nurses. They were especially fascinated. I saw nothing wrong with the exhibit.

It was at the science museum in my area. I used it as a field trip for the students. It was so packed we never got in. I went to their website and joined the membership for teachers. They offered a CD about Bodyworks so I sent for one. I thought it was going to be more of an advertisent for the exibition. It ended out the movie is over an hour long and there is even a part where the man that started the Plastination process discussed it. The CD discussed every body system and shows it. Now I don’t have to fight crowds and we get a front row seat.

I was studying Aromatherapy the year it came to Singapore. As I had to take first year medical studies, it was relevant to what I was learning. I was a tad worried that I might take to the exhibit in a slightly negative way but I went away with a much greater understanding of the human body and of the animal body.

The Miner’s (or was it the Smoker’s) Lung (all blackened) really woke some people up.

My classmates and I felt that it was done with respect to the human bodies used in the exhibit. One of the most poignant one was the exhibit of the pregnant woman.

It’s here in Singapore now so I just might catch it again.

I’ve seen human autopsies and have always been fascinated by what our bodies and organs look like. The Exploratorium in San Francisco once had a display of a sliced in layers upright human body which was even more incredible so when I came across an article in the newspaper about Body Worlds, I had to see it. For me it wasn’t macabre but I did see it as human sculpture of a really pure kind as well as medically informative.

I was visiting my sister in Boston. She was a student at Boston College. We spent the day walking around sightseeing, and i guess she had googled things we could do for the day. that exhibit was at one of the museums and it was expensive but very interesting. i was pregnant at the time, and the portion of the exhibit that featured pregnancy was very interesting to me.
