I don’t know what triggers mine. My whole body is covered, but it’s my hands (between the fingers) that itch the most. If I get it in the summertime, a dip in the pool relieves it a lot and it goes away with 36 hours or so. In the winter, it takes a few days. No meds.
I had a bad cold and then I got it a few days after. I’ve also been experiencing more stress than usual of late. Thanks for helping me make the connection. I hadn’t had an attack in years.
When I was little, my mom would use calamine lotion on me too, as well as chlor-tripolon. I think the calamine lotion helps relieve the itchiness, and there must be something in chlorine that does something, as the pool really works miracles. As I get older, I find that it concentrates more around the legs and buttocks, as opposed to the upper part of my body especially the back and chest – that was when breathing was made difficult and the experience more dangerous.
Today, it just itches and makes me grumpy.
