As the father of two daughters (no sons) and husband to my dear wife, it saddens me, and I think is quite telling, that there is such a relatively low response to this question from females.
I am a physically strong man, and because of my moral orientation (feminist favouring) and the disparity of physical strength between myself and my beloved immediate family, worried about what might occur to them when I am not with them to provide protection, when they venture out into the world and encounter ‘strong’ males of less honourable intent than myself.
Every time my wife or daughters (mid to late teens) step out of the door without me, I have to fight to stop my heart sinking.
The disparity of physical strength between men and women does not seem fair to me.
Bad design? I don’t know. I just wish that, like fathers of sons, I could expect to have my ass be able to be kicked by my kids – before I am really old and decrepit. And that my wife was not beholden to my good nature. Why should she be? I don’t like the arrangement. It should be equal at least.
Anyway, to answer my original question – I think that if one of the sexes has to have greater strength than the other, then it should reside with the sex that carries the greater responsibility (anatomically and in terms of nurturance) for the furtherance of the species. The female. Or at least there should be equality.
