I had the humidifier connected to the machine and that eliminated the sinus trouble. Since I live alone now, I don’t use the machine anymore. +GQ

My husband does, he is still trying to figure out what to do about it. He feels more comfortable not using the humidifier.

For me, it’s definitely the humidifier. I’m at level 2 on my machine now. Sometimes I can actually feel the water going in, but weirdly, it feels good. When there’s no humidifier, my sinus gets dry and starts to hurt. I have to take the machine off.

Once, however, I got “waterboarded.” I don’t know why, the but water accumulated in the tube and when I lifted the tube, the water all poured into my nose! Yuck!

On the plus side—the air flow keeps my nose much clearer, which makes it easier to endure a cold at night.

@wundayatta Maybe you over-filled it? With mine, the air flows over the surface of a container filled with water, it can’t get into the air tube. Maybe your humidifier is a different design.

@stranger_in_a_strange_land I doubt I overfilled it. You can’t really overfill it. I’ve got a respironics. I was thinking that somehow the mist precipitated out, or that I had the humidity on too high a setting.

@wundayatta Yours heats the air, so maybe the water vapor did condense out in the cooler tube

@wundayatta yeah, have experienced that also (water going in my mouth, etc) and you right..yuck!!!...got to go get my reprogrammed…not getting enough air.

What kind of mask do you use W?

@BoBo1946 I use a nasal mask. By far the least obstructive. I’ve gotten used to it, actually, and I sleep better with it. But it’s a pain taking it on all my trips (mostly so my wife can sleep).
