Yes I took benadryl for several months every night and after awhile I was taking up to two of them a night. I built up an extreme tolerance to all sleep-aids and was having to take more at 5 in the morning to keep sleeping. After a couple months I was constantly itchy and was scratching until I bleed. This all was because I took Diphenhydramin which is what almost all sleep aids have in it.
For alternatives:
-Try working out late at night. Staying active throughout the day will exhaust you and make you sleep naturally.
-Turn off the TV, put away the laptop, and the phone.
-Avoid caffeine late at night
-Get up early
-Also orgasms can help with falling asleep
