Easement Right of Way Obstructions?

The owner of the property that I have the use of a perpetual easement that is 25 feet wide continuously puts obstructions such as a saw horse, u-posts, and fences up obstructing ingress and egress to my property. What can I do. I’ve called the sheriff and they do not do anything. I’ve even given the County Attorney’s Office and the Sheriff Dept. copies of my abstract and the deed with the easement specs and the authorized users, heirs and assigns on it. Ironically the property owner bought the property from me and they were never restricted access. HELP!

The answer to this question depends on the state, city, township etc. of where you live and the zoning laws for your locality. It sounds like you have approached the right people. Another possibility is the county auditor’s or assessor’s office, as you indicated it was an easement but didn’t indicate the purpose (utility, railroad, etc.). Some of the answer depends on who the actual owner of the easement is—is it the county, is it part of your property (or theirs) for which one must give the other right of way?
