@sweethottaco well no wonder, I have enough doubts about myself and abilities w/out letting the curious onlookers add to them as well. First is acceptance, you may be a bum sitting amidst your own filth but is it your choice, people may jeer and judged but it only matters if it suits you. So acceptance of your faults and pride in your victories. I’m many philosophical and religious matters “know thyself” as Socrates said so long ago “the unexamined life is not worth living” Without arrogant mooching, take from others what works for you and discard the rest as BS. I was talking to a US Marine Sargent at the recruiting office across from my old apartment, he said “It’s okay to be scared, but not OK to be nervous.” I took it to mean you can be shaking in your boots, soil yourself but do not become impulsive or compulsive. You aren’t so bad, it may be you have more worth sitting in front of the TV than any titan of capitalism or industry and make no mistake you have worth. We are different from the other animals, our intellect allows us to go beyond our mere bodily needs and mental wants. A dog can be nothing more or less than a dog, humans, endless possibilities. Practical practice, think of that man you want to be, look at a role model too, then start acting like that man, if you change the outside first (which can sometimes be seen as shallow) the rest of your mind and body cannot help to follow our new action, then sets in integrity. Psychological boundaries, are important the easiest way I’ve found is to raise the hand in the universal stop gesture and say “talk to the hand”
