I will keep this simple for you: (and trust me it works)
Make sure you eat breakfast, it does not have to be a large meal e.g. toast, OJ, cereal…whatever you choose.
Spread your meals throughout the day. Try 5–6 small meals. Do not eat late at night. If you are hungry late at night, eat something with a good amount of protein to hold you over until the morning e.g. almonds, yogurt, etc.
You can pretty much eat the foods you want to, just make sure you are eating small portions. Foods with more fiber and protein will fill you up more than simple carbohydrates like white bread, white pasta
As far as the exercise, you can do whatever you enjoy e.g. walking, jogging, treadmill, but whatever you do for cardio, you must also add weight training to your routine. Why? You gain more muscle and therefore burn more calories.
You can find plenty of good weight lifting routines online. You do not even have to use weights. You can use your own body resistance e.g. push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups
