I’m waiting to see how many “Texas” responses we get here. They’re probably each the worst at something! I live in Maryland and there’s some trash problem, but I saw a lot of garbage when I was in New Jersey briefly. Maryland also has some very unfriendly folk, but some really friendly folk as well.
I used to live in Texas then I moved to Minnesota and I noticed a huge difference in that there was far less trash all over the roads and people drove better nobody tried to run me off the road in Minnesota. I was wondering if more states were trashy like Texas and I guess there are a few.
My vote goes to Alabama. went to Birminghma one time and eventually was lost. i went into one part of town that had trash on the side of the road, at least 6 inches deep. the wind would blow and the trash would hit our windshield, causing a dangerous driving situation. do they not have street cleaners in Birmingham? if this city is an example for the rest of Alabama, then the whole state needs a huge bottle of Mr. Clean and a ton of trash bags.
No offense to Michganders, but I found their state pretty awful too. I grew up right outside of LA and spent my share of time in the city, but I was never so terrified as when we got lost in downtown Detroit after midnight. That was a very, very scary place.
@Fred931 Just a tad rude in what way? I answered the question, which btw, did not include to give any reasons.
But since you ask, I was there 20+ years ago at a laundromat reading the bulletin board stuff. A poster advertising the KKK parade on Sunday.
I was shocked and wanted to leave right then.
That’s all I want to share.
But really, the worst state that I’ve been to was Maryland, when I went back east a few years ago. It just oozed terribleness. It’s the state with the second highest murder rate per capita [citation needed].
I haven’t spent much time in many states, though, to be honest.
I haven’t really been to a state I would consider the “worst”. I’ve been to CA, NV, OR, WA, AZ, CO, FL, HI, MT, IL, DC, and VA. They’re all fine to me. I mean, sure I prefer CA over the others, but they’re all good in their own way.
I would have to say pretty much any state that was formerly part of the Confederacy… Not because of that, just the south has some major issues, mainly with education, which is the gateway to everything else being so so bad…
