I have money, but love.
So I want to make something fun for my boyfriend.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I love working with satin. I believe making a satin pillow will be fun.

Can you cook something for him? Maybe make some chocolate truffles, or delicious brownies? What artsy skills do you have? It’s not too late to knit or crochet up a scarf or hat, if you use relatively bulky yarn.

A heartfelt, homemade card is always nice. One year for x-mas, I made my boyfriend a card using some colorful cardstock and shiny metallic origami paper. On the inside, i wrote something cheezy along the lines of “30 reasons I love you.” I probably put about 2 hours into putting the card together, and although it started falling apart shortly after it was received, i think it was still appreciated.

You should cook dinner instead of going out to eat! Going to restaurants on Valentines day is insane because they’re always so crowded. The service is rushed and hassled when you’re trying to have a nice dinner, and they have special valentines day menus that are just meant to make lots of money for the restaurant.

Here’s what I’m planning to make:

Mixed green salad with goat cheese, raspberries, and vinaigrette
Seared scallops or mussels in white wine sauce (haven’t decided)
Broiled lamb chops rubbed with spices
Creme brulee with mixed fresh berries (I’m buying that.)
I’m also planning on buying a bottle of New Zealand sauvignon blanc and Australian shiraz. Yum! :D

I can cook and bake. I just want to do something different, because he works nights and I make dinner for him everynight. I know he appreciates it, but something different is what I want to give him.
Thanks for the ideas so far.
@Cruiser that’s a good Idea.

Fill a big box with helium balloons so when he opens it they pop out. You can usually get five for a dollar or so. You can make it collapsible (only held together by the wrapping paper) so that it flattens out and turns into a giant V-day card/poster. Kind of cheesy, but who cares. :)

I agree with at least baking some type of delicious dessert. I like cupcakes because you can make red, pink, and white icing. Or just red and pink is what I would do. and write “I LOVE YOU BOYFRIENDS NAME” or whatever you want. One letter on each cupcake of course.

Ok I just saw that you said you wanna do something different, but I still think this should be done in addition, lol.

If he’s anything like me he appreciated anything you will do for him. My girlfriend is a fantastic cook and I enjoy everything she makes. :-)
yummy treats are always enjoyable. I’m sure he appreciates just being around you even if all u do is snuggle and smile at him. Those are always the best moments and then out of no where, u turn to them and say “I love you” and it makes the whole night so wonderful :-)

Buy a box of Sweethearts candies and cut a heart shaped hole in the middle. Use a glue gun to decorate the outside of the box with the candies then put a picture of yourself in the heart shaped hole. It is an adorable picture frame.
