@Tenpinmaster It turns out I have Addison’s disease but had no idea. I was in full blown adrenal crisis (meaning my body was shutting down) when I found out. I lost 40 lbs in about 5 months and was to a point where I couldn’t even perform the basic functions of life, such as bathing, eating, and so on.My mother finally took me to the doctor and when he took my blood pressure, it was 50/40 and he admitted me to the hospital. I had known I was dying for quite some time, but didn’t know what was wrong with me or how to fix it. It was scary and a relief at the same time. My dad had died a year prior, so in my mind, I was ok with going Home to be with him. I had started to think about things like, “What will my family do about my apartment, furniture, car, bills, etc.” I was ready to give my mom access to my bank account in case it needed to be shut down. The process of death was slow (it was about 8 months from the time I started feeling “off” to the time of diagnosis, so I had much time to reflect).
Anyway, after 2 days in the hospital, I had my diagnosis and with some medication, I was back to normal. It was an amazing, life changing experience. I am a completely different person now in so many ways.
