What do you want to accomplish before you're 30? Or what did you?

What are some of your immediate goals? How did you find these goals? What makes them worth committing to?

I wanted to skydive, and I did.

I was married and had a son and a new daughter. I was home with them but I was a registered nurse before my son was born.

I wanted to own my own home – and did. That was my only concrete “goal” before thirty.

Sure I accomplished plenty of other things, but they were never goals per se. More like the results of hard work, good timing and a boatload of luck.

30 seems like such a huge milestone when you haven’t reached it yet. Most of my goals are work and financial goals.

I’m the assistant manager of a small gourmet market right now. I want to be very successful at this so it can be the start of a real career. I want to at least manage my own store or restaurant and work with gourmet food or wine, and maybe work in small business development.

I want a bachelor’s degree. Right now I’m still in community college and I’m 22. It’s taking forever because I’ve had to work full time for the last few years.

I want to have my finances together enough to buy a home and maybe support a child. I’ve always wanted to adopt an older foster child.

I wanted to marry a beautiful woman and have beautiful chidlren, and I did. I wanted to make Captain in the Army, and I did. I wanted to get my Masters degree, but that didn’t happen until I was 39.

I don’t really set goals like that…it’s more like I have a list of things I would like to do whenever it’s possible. But by the time I’m 30 I would like to have my BA in physics, hopefully have a job in that area, maybe married to my current boyfriend. Enough money to support my family, but not more. But most of all…I would really like to have a close family, no more dramma, no more yelling and fighting.
I know it’s a lot…but I have a lot of time, I’m not even 18 yet
