Why are these Olympics the worst?

Because of the poor boy who died on the luge, the weather and delays.

I think the issue is with how much it costs and all the time that goes into it Vancouver has been a letdown – not horrible but definitely not one of the better olympics. I’m not Canadian but that’s my opinion and from my online travels I do think some Canadians are taking it too personally

Because we are the mousy cousin who doesn’t cause any waves. And to have someone die at our possible failing! But for us now with all the golds, we feel so good. We’ve been bronze a lot.

Vancouver is a fantastic city. From what I understand some of the infrastructure improvements in the city getting ready for the Olympics are very good. I don’t see how we can blame Canada for the bad weather. If anything I think they should be capitalizing on how mild the weather can be down in the city during the winter months, that is a great selling point for a country so north and cold brrr. Media has commented on how organized they were and how wonderful Olympic village is. That in other countries they have arrived before the games and they are still painting the walls.

The luge accident is incredibly sad. It is difficult for me to think about it. I don’t know if it is Canada’s fault, or other officials who give specificiations for the construction of these things, and who did not heed the comments of some of the top competitors in the sport who said it was too fast, scary, during practice runs.

I’m American. USA USA USA! LOL.

I don’t think this has been the worst Olympics at all (confession: I’m an American). In 1996 and 1972, there were terrorist attacks at the Olympics. In 2008, people were unable to compete because of the air pollution. So it’s an El Nino year and the snow is different. That happens. Don’t sweat it.

The Canadians topped the gold medal count with 14.
The US has 9.

In a way, it looks like the Canadians did own the podium after all.
