I’ve wondered that as well. I’ve also wondered who was the guy who thought that breaking open a chicken’s egg and putting the gooey sulfuric contents in a cake would make it better.
(I hate eggs and do not eat them outside of baked goods). :P
By the way, @iseewavesinme, that was a pretty good guess, but milk was discovered by the Chinese over 3,000 years ago. It was Cowfuscius who thought of it first.
Probably a woman, actually, who noticed that the calf suckled much like her own child, and thought perhaps during some hungry time, it might be worth a try.
It may well have been the guy who had a little sample of his lactating wife’s product and thought the same coming from the cow might be a good year round substitute after the kids are weaned?
