Why or why not?

If so, which supplements do you use and why do you prefer them?

The type of supplements depends on what you want to accomplish. Good health should be supervised by your doctor and body shape and muscle tone by a fitness trainer. general diet should be the right vegetables, carbohydrates and lean protein. A proper exercise regiment is most important as a beginning…

I do.
I take anti-inflammatory supplements to help with MS.They work.I went from barely being able to walk, back to my usual routine of a walking or biking a few miles a day, plus weight lifting 6 times a week within one month of taking them.:))
I also watch what I eat.

Personally, I only take a multi-vitamin and an extra Vitamin D, and I don’t do it religiously every day. I do this because even with a balanced diet, modern food tends to be lacking in all essential vitamins.

Beyond that I frown on most supplements. It can be costly, can get very complicated, and generally is not all that well supported from a medical scientific standpoint. Some people have special needs, of course, such as the poster who mentioned anti-inflammatory supplements.

Although I do not approve of their use, I have known a woman bodybuilder who regularly took steroids. I cannot deny that they were effective for her. She was several times stronger than me and much stronger than the average man. (She could bench press 305 pounds!) The steroids did not seem to hurt her any, but it seemed risky to me.

Be carefull, they aren’t just little metabolism boosters, or what ever the claim. Some qualify as drugs; just like caffiene. They can mess you up. If you want to try something buy the smallest bottle or a little demo pack. I take a few, very select group when I can afford them.

Vitamin E for my nails and hair and Iron, but only as I need it, being I’m not a big fan of meat some days and start to feel run down. Neither are taken daily.
