What does "Deutschland Kaput" mean?

I think “Deutschland” is “Germany” in German.

Yes, Deutschland is German for Germany, but “Deutschland kaput” is a specific reference to the 3rd Reich being broken… or “finished”.. or “dead”.

it must be sth. Historical, because the grammar does not make too much sense. I am german, and I would translate it with Germany destroyed.maybe an ally said that?
