Only for away games.

My god, what a silly question, of course it does. ~

It might if I weren’t a Yankees fan.

I don’t know about sports, but sometimes, if I yell loud enough, the pretty girl doesn’t unwittingly wander into the darkened basement with the axe murderer.

I quit wearing my Broncos sweatshirt on game day. they always lost when I wore it…..always!

rebbel's avatar

Obviously it does help, but sometimes when i shout too loud at it, it shouts back.

The team a friend wants to win always wins if I watch the game with them! I’m a lucky charm :)

If only I could use some of my own luck >.<

No, and throwing things and yelling at the TV doesn’t make any of the morons in Congress or any of my moronic fellow citizens any smarter either.

cockswain's avatar

I don’t think so. Brett Favre threw a critical interception in the NFC Championship game both as a Packer, but also as a hated Viking.

PandoraBoxx's avatar

Of course it does. But only if you have the television volume turned up only as loud as it will go, and you are watching two games at once.

Damn straight, just like putting stripes on your car makes it go faster. SCIENCE!

@jonsblond The clothing doesn’t matter, they just lose, period. Stupid Donkeys.

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities They won the most important game. take that Packers…neener neener.

Not for Red Sox fans before they won the World Series! My father would be sitting in his recliner and fly out of it, with the foot part slamming down and be jumping up and down yelling at the TV and the @#$#$% Red Sox. I learned a lot of swear words when they were playing. So, my answer would be a hearty ‘NO!’ We really thought he was going to have a heart attack yelling he would get so upset.

Yes, and leaving the room for a few minutes always ensures a goal by the time I get back.

I did once get nervous during a Packers game and accidentally pulled a small piece of yellow foam off my cheese head. It was a critical point in the game, and I didn’t think throwing that piece of foam away would be safe. So I ate it. They still lost. I’m normally not superstitious.

VohuManah's avatar

No, but readjusting the screen settings with an axe does.

ChaosCross's avatar

No, why would anyone ever think something so illogical?

O WAIT WE’RE ON FLUTHER!

susanc's avatar

Oh yes!! It works exactly as well as screaming at people in cars that have just passed you on the right.

davidbetterman's avatar

It absolutely does work. Why else would anyone be screaming at a box?

john65pennington's avatar

No, it only creates a thirst and this is why you see so many beer commercials on television, during sporting events.

Smart thinking?

It sure doesn’t help the Sooners win bowl games!!! :( :( :(

Yelling at the televison or my spouse or friends or the pets. It all seems to work for me. The sports team on the receiving end probably sympathizes with my unbalanced condition and puts forth that extra effort to win so that I can stay in control, barely.

mysweetdrream182's avatar

It makes me feel better when they’re losing, and when they score, I give all the credit to my yelling. So yes it works.
