If it wasn’t, what’s the incentive for you to show up? Why not take a day off every pay period?
If you don’t have vacation time, sick time, or comp time (which is usually negotiated prior to the absence) then you have to take a day of unpaid leave.
If a person is salary and they work more hours they still get base salary. If you work less hours from being sick for one day dosen’t salary still mean salary? Isn’t that supposed to be a benefit of salaried employees unless the days off are to an extreme. The employer benefits from being able to work the salaried employee as much as they want, shouldn’t it work both ways? I’m not stating facts, just what makes sense to me.
