What are the months that make up basketball season in high schools?

November-February is usually the winter sport season in high school.

It's different in every state. In Washington, the season starts after Thanksgiving and ends sometime in February. The state tournaments run during the end of February and early March.

In Illinois, basketball starts just before thanksgiving and ends in early March.
