There were two more after that. A 4.5 and a 5.1 in Jacumba and Imperial. I didn’t feel them ‘cause I’m in Oregon, but now I’m kinda waiting for ours. Ha.
im watching the news and it says that it started in mexicali, but was felt all the way up to los angeles, and arizona, it was a big one, and i so far have already felt 3 after shocks.
@mrrich724, i also felt like that i live on the top floor of my building, and also felt like i was in a boat in the middle of the ocean. omg. it was horrible.
This was a 6.9 with epicenter in Baja California and definitely being felt in So. Cal. There were some No. Cal. reports as well, but I didn’t feel anything here.
6.9 was the magnitude of the Loma Prieta quake in ‘89. That’s pretty big.
Yes i live on the top floor of my apt building too and it feels horrible. Now what the hell with the aftershocks? i have felt 3 already and its creeping the hell out of me that it might just start up again.
I’m in Los Angeles. It woke me up from my nap and I looked over and blamed it on my dog because I thought she was scratching herself, which in turn causes the bed to shake.
My whole damn apartment was swaying back and forth. And my dumbass blamed it on the dog. DOH!
@Arisztid, as noted above, they were both 6.9. How much you feel it depends on where you are in relation to it. We got a pretty good shake and rattle in 1989 but didn’t feel this one at all.
I was sitting on the floor outside when it happened. I don’t know how high it was but it gave me motion sickness. It wasn’t scary though, it felt like if I was on a moving boat.
SoCal here.
