There are plenty of countries in which I’d like to live. Mostly I just want to be out of the U.S. England, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.
Europe especially, because I’m fascinated by languages, and the fact that there are so many countries right near eachother, each with its own language, is just so appealing to me.
I’d like to be out of the U.S. for so many reasons. I don’t like how massive of a nation we are, as far as population goes. Even with state governments, it’s just too hard to meet the needs of 300m people. Our size also seems to make us feel like we should be a “big brother”, and be up in everyone’s business. And we have such a vocal minority of complete morons that it paints a bad picture for the other 300m of us.
I don’t like how fervently religious the right-wing is (in general. Yes, there are exceptions, don’t need to point them out to me). I don’t like how conservative we are, socially. I don’t like how much the populace feeds into emotionally charged messages, rather than the facts (though I expect this exists in the nations I listed. Hopefully to a lesser extent).
Oh and I don’t like the weather where I live. So if I’m going to move, I may as well make it a big move.
