I’ve never rented a car. Most places are really expensive up to $30/day.

I didn’t know there were rental companies that rented below 25?

I always use the internet for best prices. AAA gives discounts, and I’ve rented for $12/day through Priceline.

Car rental is always cheaper over the internet. the only problem is i never buy or rent anything, site unseen.

If you have a credit or debit card, the web is the cheapest route to take. since this is your first car rental, you may have to rent in person.

@Taciturnu Many people think that rental companies only rent to people 25 and over, but that is actually a myth. While some still have that policy, most will rent to anyone 21 and over. It just costs more to rent before you’re 25.

When I wanted to rent a car, I used yellowpages to find out what rental companies were in my area. I then looked at each of their websites to get their rates. Since you are under 25, you will need to check their rules to see what kind of penalties they will charge you for your age. The company with the least expensive rentals in general is likely not the cheapest one for you since you are 21. Avis ended up being the best for me when I rented at 21. Given that I don’t live in your area, you should do your own research.

@chelle21689 You’re probably going to need to accept that $30/day is really not expensive for a car rental.

Try Orbitz or one of the other travel websites to get an idea of costs, use drop down box for age..
Rentals are not cheap but tend to be cheaper at the airport.

Make sure you call first. When I was 22 I went to San Diego. I had a rental all planned out and everything, it was going to be about 100 bucks for the week. However, when I actually landed there and tried to get it… They saw I was under 25 and proceeded to rape me without anal lube. They wanted me to pay $400 for the rental car, and the bus that took me to the rental store conveniently only took customers back to the airport.

Still upset.

Unfortunately, there is no one who will rent to that age group without hiking up the price tremendously.
