certain types of birth control will cause a girl to miss periods: drop shot, some pills. It depends on the girl though.

Girls can be late for many reasons, not just pregnancy.

I would say that if she’s over a week late to get a pregnancy test – only real way to know.

It depends on the girl. Some are regular as clockwork, others naturally miss periods from time to time. She should know how her body behaves.

Yeah, the symptoms of a period are very very similar to symptoms of being pregnant. She can test for the pregnancy hormone 5 days before her missed period. But results are better at 3 days before.
