For ease of use, I love iMove and may upgrade.

I use windows movie maker

I use a Roxio program because it is simple, but my favorite is Sony Vegas Pro. The only problem I have with it is that I can’t quite figure out how to output my widescreen videos to fit Youtube’s player perfectly.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. It’s **magic!**

I use FinalCut Pro to make my movies, although they’re usually in the form of animations exported as QuickTime movies. I’ve never tried it with footage from a video camera. However, FinalCut has a lot of nice features such as transitions, ability to move your clips around in certain ways, add effects, etc. It has a bit harder of a learning curve than, say, iMove, though.

I know FinalCut Pro is expensive, and most people go for Final Cut Express, and I don’t know what you sacrifice for features between the two.

I’ve used both of the standard PC and Mac software, and iMovie seems to have more premise, though I wasn’t able to espose that potential the first time I used it because I had only used WMM software prior.

It is actually what sort of video you want to create that is important.

If you just want to create a simple composition with different footage files, I suggest Adobe premiere, Sony Vegas is also good for this and you have more effects and options in Sony Vegas.

If you want to create motion graphics, I suggest using Adobe After Effects, keep in mind to use this for small projects only, because rendering (saving it) will take a lot of time, especially if you have more stuff going on. (motion blur, regular blur , tons of particles, take tons of time to render out.
