Is precognition possible?

Is it possible to know the future before it happens? Take into account instincts and gut feelings. Im also not refering to mundane forecasting based on evidence and past experience. Im talking about impossible to know beforehand events. Like who is going to win the game tommorow or what are the winning lottery numbers going to be.

I’ve never seen any convincing evidence that it is. I have heard accounts of psychic activity in which a person knew things (allegedly) that happened in the past that they didn’t experience themselves, but I have never seen any proof that a person can predict the future. I personally do not believe that it is possible, but I am skeptic about most things like this.

Is it possible? Sure.

Deja Vu is common, but not something that you can command. It happens when it wants to.

@talljasperman No it’s not!

I mean… I think it’s hard (and rather presumptuous) to say that anything is impossible. But I think current evidence shows that it’s very, very unlikely.

@xxii Well, okay, monkeys can POSSIBLY fly out of my butt too, but it’s highly unlikely to happen.

xxii's avatar

@Rarebear – Exactly.

talljasperman's avatar

@Rarebear is too!!! ... cue the monkeys

Draconess25's avatar

@xxii Unlikely, but completely possible. It runs in our family. But you can’t really control it; it’s like trying to hold your intestines in with a Band-Aid.

@Draconess25<struggles to make joke about monkeys-in-jeans genes…fails>

@xxii Eh? At least you tried.

@Rarebear Maybe invisible monkeys are flying out of your butt. How on earth would you know, one way or the other? :)
