If it has been a couple of days and the “thing” hasn’t moved around, chances are what you are feeling is a scratch on the eye, rather than an object in your eye.
You can rinse the eye out with dilute salt water (will sting a lot less than plain tap water). If the pain persists in the same location after that, you probably have a scratch that leaving alone and not rubbing at the eye will heal in a couple of days.
Using gel artificial tears for a couple of days will offer some pain relief.
