I’ve kept a fine cigar going for a few minutes…but, have not smoked on my own (and, never a cigarette). My husband smoked only cigars for many years. An emphatic yes on being able to differentiate between a fine and inexpensive cigar. I truly enjoy the aroma of a fine cigar…though I rarely am in the presence of them any more.
My husband’s favorite cigar quote was by Rudyard Kipling: “A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke.”
Here were a few others:
“If I had taken my doctor’s advice and quit smoking when he advised me to, I wouldn’t have lived to go to his funeral.”
– George Burns
“Any cigar smoker is a friend, because I know how he feels.”
– Alfred de Musset
“I smoke cigars when I win, to celebrate… and I smoke cigars
when I lose to console myself.”
– Winston Churchill
“If your wife doesn’t like the aroma of your cigar, change your wife.”
– Zino Davidoff
“A fine cigar is just like a woman. If you don’t light it up just right and suck on it with a certain frequency, it will go out on you.”
