@jerv You make an excellent point——whatever they set their mind to, they almost always accomplish it. It’s the Chinese (Asian) work ethic. I am Asian (Chinese/Japanese) ethnically, but I was born here. However, I was raised with the Asian work ethic “You will not cease working hard until your dreams have been realized”.
The Chinese have miraculously transformed their nation into an economic powerhouse. Only 20 years ago, when I visited China, most of the people there were still riding bicycles and using donkeys for transport. When I went back there last year, I was amazed to see nearly every city folk driving a car, and not just ordinary cars, but BMWs, Mercedes Benzs, Lexus, and Porches. I even saw quite a few Rolls Royces! The Chinese are enamored with luxury and modernity. Nothing is good enough for them. They unashamedly use capitalism for their own devices, and are now wallowing in the riches. I know one girl from China who lives here in Canada, and her parents send her $30,000— $40,000 U.S. EVERY MONTH. Unreal. Sigh.
