How do I change the duration of a sound clip in iMovie?

I'm trying to change the duration of a sound clip in imovie, to slow it down to match the video..is this even possible in imovie?

Yes, it's possible... though it requires some cleverness:

First select the sound clip and extract the audio (advanced => extract audio)

Then export that audio to a static sound file
ben's avatar
Then use some more powerful audio software like Audicity (free and opensource - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ) to make the changes to the audio

Then reimport it into to iMovie and line it up
