I love would to hear your thoughts on this band. The Rheostatics from the land of beer and beavers; do you care for them (and how would you describe their sound)

“Great Question” (2points)

I’m pretty sure that these boys are from Toronto. They were quite popular back in the early 90’s. No one sounds like them at all.

I love this band/this sound. Check out this song. I love the vocals. The best part is seeing them perform live. =)

I kind of like their sound. It has a sad quality. The timing of the songs is very slow. Even Claire, which is an upbeat tune.

Never heard of them before, but I’m glad I stumbled upon your question because I love that song! Their sound is unusual which I like. I really like slower music with a dark/depressing twist to it. I checked out the lyrics and they’re really interesting and powerful. In case anyone is interested in reading them here.

When developing a scene for one of my scripts, I rely heavily on music to help me create a scenario or a character or a particular environment/feeling. I can already tell this song is going to help a little bit. Thanks =)

If you like the Rheostatics, you’ll probably enjoy the Barstool Prophets too.

@SmashTheState Can’t say that I care for them.

So, do you like the Rheostatics?

I love the sound! Nice retro sound, chorus vocals sound like the Moody Blues at their best. Lead guitar sounds like Robby Krieger of The Doors. I’ve never heard them before, thanks @jjmah !

Like @marinelife said. Nice sound but their music doesn’t stir me much.

I listened to about 3 minutes and hit the delete button. That is not necessarily a bad thing, though. I remember one song we played this way in the mid-60s. Up and down crescendos made the song then and with this group.

Honestly, I did not care for that music then or now.
