Which is better, peanut butter and jelly, or ham and cheese?

“Great Question” (1points)

Alot of people at my school love the traditional lunch sandwiches, pb-j and ham and cheese. But I never knew, which one was the best.

I guess this would be more of a debating question but which is awesome and which isn’t.

Its 50/50. I prefer the PB&J.

But the jelly is probably the bad part, plus depending on what type of bread you use.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

Neither. The winner is Peanut Butter & Honey.

Pb & j is great… for dessert.

delirium's avatar

PBJ, it’s vegetarian.

I’ll take curried chicken salad anytime.

Grilled ham and cheese, or better yet:A reuben

Just PB, thanks, on 7-grain toast. Crunchy PB.

blueberry_kid's avatar

7-grain, wow

Nope, Jeff’sjunk. It’s peanut butter, honey and banana slices.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Yeah. down with white bread.

blueberry_kid's avatar

What is wrong with you all, its totally honey-grain wheat bread.

I like peanut butter banana and honey
or peanut butter and sliced cheddar cheese
I do not like ham, Sam I am

Gotta go with thin sliced Virginia Ham, with Baby Swiss on rye! Yum!

I have to say, @Cruiser. That is my favorite Ham & Cheese combination.

But which is healthier? :-)

Lightlyseared's avatar

Ham and cheese with Cumbrian mustard.

Cruiser's avatar

@ChazMaz I have been known to just roll the cheese up in the ham and gobble it down sans bread while riding my bike. So that should be as healthy as it can get. Try doing that with PB&J!

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@Cruiser That works with baloney and mustard. Roll up and enjoy. Although I just blew all of my pull with the vegan and veggie community.

CMaz's avatar

I do that too. It seems to taste best that way. :-)

I guess the equivalent would be using a spoon.

@Adirondackwannabe I love baloney and mustard and I remember the first one I ever had was after a conference swim meet and I was both exhausted and starving on the bus ride home. A mom who came along handed me one and it was better than great!

@ChazMaz I just saw Skippy comes in squeeze tubes and jelly does too! I’m good to go!

Ham and cheese for me. Not so keen on PJ, and jelly (we call it jam here) is just too sweet.

I prefer chicken salad but if I Had to choose I’d have an @Cruiser
sandwich. I like the holey swiss too, mustard And mayonnaise, bread with lots of seeds in it and…. a kosher dill. Have a hard time finding good ham, though. Usually tastes like water.
Great; now I’m hungry.

Aster's avatar

I meant I like swiss with holes ; baby swiss doesn’t have as much flavor or good looks!

Ham and cheese. I’d probably eat one pb&j for every ten sandwiches I ate. If that. I love pb&j, but I rarely eat it.

jenandcolin's avatar

Both are good but only made in specific ways (according to my taste).
I love pb &j but only with crunchy pb and the “j” needs to be strawberry preserves. The consistency of jelly is not appealing to me.
Ham and cheese is good…as long as no mayo is involved. Seriously, mayo is the nastiest thing of all time. It’s gross.

casheroo's avatar

Those are my two favorite sandwiches. And chicken salad.

I suddenly have a craving for a grilled cheese and peanut butter sandwich. I need to quit drinking

Peanut butter and jelly for sure. :D I don’t eat meat anyway. Well, over here we call it peanut butter and jam (jam is your jelly i suppose). Peanut butter and syrup, or honey is even nicer – have you ever tried that?
