There are tons of bad ones. I once ran into one where the sole purpose of the site seemed to be informing people about how genetics plays a larger role in a child’s upbringing than the parenting ever can. Good luck getting around stuff like that. I suggest you try StumbleUpon or something like it to search through popular sites.
i used to look at cafemom but i found it confusing – all the groups, topics, posts, i didn’t find it too easy to look at and i felt like i was lost in a labyrinth.
@jca It does take a lot of effort to get used to. I just started with one section and then gradually branched out. My first experience was to browse through them all, and then stick to the Answers section. Here is a tutorial on how to use the site.
Thanks for your answers! I agree with @zophu that there are tons of horrendously bad ones. btw, if you haven’t already, check out parentsguild.com – it’s a fairly new site, but it’s done a good job at what it’s set out to do, creating a (kind) community of thinking parents.
