Could be called a leading question because I know the answer. Would like to see how many know without doing a search.

About the size of one cupped hand (unless your hand is very small)

about 1/2 shot glass! I’ve had one in my avocado tree the past 3 years. The last year there was three eggs. No, I never messed with them or got too close, but I did get some great pic’s!

Am I remembering correctly that their eggs are the size of peas?

I live in Mn and after the news on Sunday night there is a program called Minnesota Bound. Guess what the topic was? It was on hummingbirds. I got to see the nest for the first time.

They said the nest was about the size of a half dollar. Getting a lot of different answers.

I’d say quarter size is more accurate. But perhaps in a different climate they change. I only know what I see in my yard or rather my own tree.

I’ve seen one in the interior of BC before, and it was about 5 or 6 cm across (diameter). I would imagine it depends on the species of hummingbird.
