at work, I injured myself. I was throwing out a glass lid, and decided to smash it in the dumpster. When I did, I cut my ring finger on my left hand, and hit a tendant, and had to get 3 stitches. no one else saw it happen. Should I still get workers comp even though it was my fault? It was still an accident at work, regardless of how it happened. And it wasn’t like I was intending to hurt myself.
I went to the office today, and they said I might not get it, cause they think I was messing around, but I think they just don’t want their insurance to go up. The lady there was kinda bitchy, and was ridiculing me and saying rude things like “why would you do such a stupid thing, and what were you expecting to happen” and yea, I admit it was kinda dumb thing to do, but why do you have to be so rude about it?
My doctor says it doesn’t matter how it happened, and that it happened at work, and they don’t need a reason why.
